We were fortunate to go to Moonrise Festival two years in a row at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore Maryland. The weekend was pretty shitty, rained on Saturday and extremely muddy the next day.
The festival took place over the weekend on August 11-12. While this festival isn’t as big as Ultra or Tomorrowland, it still brings down some big name DJs like Yellow Claw, Afrojack, Carnage, Flosstradamus and much more.
The festival was the same as last year, but the stages were a bit more closed in.
They had four stages, the two main stages were Stellar and Lunar stages. Then the Solar stage was under a tent in the middle, while the final stage Celestial was on the side of that and a bit smaller than last year.
Saturday was a bust, it started pouring around 6 PM which made the festival shut down until 9 PM, so everyone was stuck on the other side of the race track waiting to be let back in. Because of the rain, we missed a few good performers like the Migos which was unfortunate. Though we were able to come back in and see Carnage close the show – not his best set but worth the wait.
Sunday was the best day – the lineup, weather and my outfit were on point ha! Overall Moonrise was a success, festivals are always a great place to connect with friends, make connections, listen to great music and more.
