Moonrise Festival takes place during the hottest month of the summer. Within 30 minutes of arriving you will feel the exhaustion and heat. Thinking about pre gaming before heading in? Well think again because the amount of sweat and walking will soak that sh*t right up. Just don’t expect it to last if you choose to drink beforehand. Unless you’re completely trashed, then good luck.
Because we live a little over an hour away, we had to pick up our wristbands around 9:30am on Saturday morning. Surprisingly, there was no line. We walked right up and back to the car in less than 3 minutes.
Entering the official gates to Moonrise was unexpectedly a lot easier than I thought. Security was a joke which worked out in my favor. I was a little reluctant on bringing my Sony a6000 camera in because 1. Moonrise said it was okay but 2. The race course never responded. Luckily the boss was standing close by and gave me a pass.
Once inside, it was time to rave!
– DAY ONE –
HUMID! HUMID! HUMID! We were not expecting it to be THAT bad until we stood in the sun for 10 minutes. Tasha’s lazy butt ended up taking 2 naps while we leaned against the shaded gates by the technicians. She met a new friend 👇🏽.
The whole water station system was a mess. Too many people to only have 3 stations.
I’ve been waiting since the day I first laid eyes on him at Ultra to watch him play.
I was fangirling SO hard over a freaking Marshmello head, someone I have no idea how he looks like smh. Besides not being close enough, his set was everything I had hoped for. ASAP Ferg made a special appearance midway through his set and killed it! I was looking forward to hearing him play “Hello” but unfortunately The Chainsmokers were starting 5 minutes before Mello ended.
The crowd started to grow big as we made our way to the Stellar stage. It was too packed and hot to mush our way through the center so we stayed on the sideline with a decent view. The Chainsmokers put on an amazing show! I listen to their Ultra set every week so watching them live gave me chills. So much energy, creativity, and love!
– DAY TWO –
We met up with a couple of friends to pre gamed at Mad River in downtown Baltimore. The all you can drink and “party” bus ride for $30 was too good of a deal not to take.
Of course we mistakenly snuck into the guys line rather than the girls line. Lucky for us, the girls line ended up being a lot shorter. The security employee then chose to flirt with me rather than thoroughly check my bag. Again, it worked out in my favor because I didn’t want to deal with camera.
Tchami was beyond amazing. He is the only house/future house artist I really vibe with. Bless up!
Watched Yellow Claw once and I’m hooked! Incredible vibes and energy. Our first, and definitely not last, time seeing them perform.
The 15 minutes we were there for Tiësto’s set was mind blowing. Our friend let me up on his shoulders and I was in awe at witnessing how many people were actually there.
