Looking for a family getaway for the holiday? Well, the ICE! Gaylord National Resort has one of the best family attractions in Washington, D.C.
Gaylord National Resort
Now that the Christmas time is upon us, we decided to find a kid-friendly activity that my sisters and I could do with their kids. Since one of my sisters has been dying to go to the Gaylord ICE!, we decided we would go see what the fuss was about.
The theme this year was Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer which is open for viewing from November 18, 2017 – January 1, 2018.
ICE! Ticket Prices: From $24 child/$32 adult
Value days: Nov. 18-22, 26-30 | Dec. 1, 3-8, 10-15, 18-21
General Admission: Nov. 23-25 | Dec. 2, 9, 16-17, 31 | Jan. 1
Peak days: Dec. 22-30
$15 | 3-hour self-parking for guests visiting ICE!
Need to know:
- I wouldn’t recommend taking any kids below 2
- IT’S COLD! Dress well. I couldn’t feel my fingers after 5minutes and I wore gloves
- They say it takes approximately 15-30 minutes to walk through the experience. Trust me, you will be done in 5.
- Though you pay $38 (including taxes), you still have to pay for the other attractions (ice skating, carousel etc.). Which I wasn’t aware of.
Overall, it’s a great experience for the kids but I did think it was a waste of money and my time. You can still go check out the Gaylord hotel and directions without getting tickets to ICE.
