On this beautiful Friday, we’re going to look back at one of the most coolest trips I’ve ever taken. Here’s a flashback Friday to Vegas MTV Spring Break 2012!!
* WARNING* Pictures were taken with a crappy camera. Please forgive me. You may continue…
So I’m in college, studying my little ass off, and my sister invites me to Vegas. I said I was broke but she kept insisting and said, “I’ll pay for the hotel”. Say no more!
We stayed at the Palms Casino Resort a little off from the Vegas strip. There are casinos and restaurants within the hotel so we never really needed to leave.
Now all I thought that was going to happen was a little turn up here and there and have a good time. Come to find out, MTV was hosting their annual spring break party right in our hotel. We partied poolside with Young Jeezy, Carly Rae Jepsen, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, The Wanted and more. MTV celebrities Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Deena Nicole Cortese from “Jersey Shore,” as well as Leroy and Naomi from “The Challenge: Battle of the Exes.” also made an appearance and partied with the fans.
While everyone was worried about looking good for the camera, I was in my own world jamming to the music. The DJ noticed me and told me to get on stage. One, two, four blue motorcycles later and I was all the way up! Shaking my nonexistent ass and singing alone to songs I don’t know the lyrics to. After a while, the stage got a little too wild.
How is it being on TV? There’s a lot of waiting and being extra. The production crew and host knew how to get the audience live before each scene. Cheering, twerking, and blowing kisses to the cam was exactly what they wanted.
It was hard going out at night after a long day of partying. We stopped by a couple bars both in our hotel and on the strip. Ghostbar had a beautiful view, too bad my makeup takes it away. As you can tell, I had zero knowledge of applying eye shadow and when enough was enough for blush.
We decided to be tourist on our last day in Vegas and explore around the strip.
Overall the experience was fun. I grew up watching MTV spring break and finally got a chance to be apart of one. Vegas itself seemed a little overrated, but then again I was in a relationship at the time and didn’t go all out. My next Vegas trip will be insane – Either EDC or an EDM pool party.
