About Us

Thank you for your interest in learning more about Natasha and Melissa’s travel journey. Two best friends ready to live life, one passport stamp at a time.

How did the Chasin’ Happiness come about? Well here’s our story. We both went to the same middle school and high school, but 12th grade was when our friendship started. From then we went to college together and have been inseparable ever since. We both despise the standard corporate jobs and figured we’d create something together that will keep our lives interesting.

This blog is to inspire ourselves to do more with our lives, and hopefully, inspire others along the way. Our blog is based on our journeys both together and solo, to places that have been on our bucket list for years and also adding some along the way.

From events in the greater Washington DC area to road trips, and backpacking in Europe, these are just a few examples of what to expect.

Natasha

Hi, my name is Natasha, I am 26 years old, African-bred but the U.S. is where I call home!

I now live and work in the city of Washington, DC. Before moving to the U.S., I lived in the U.K, and then the Middle East for 11 years. I have always had the travel bug, but I haven’t had the chance to venture off on my own. My comfortable zone is with my family or staying in a place that is familiar to me. I want to break away from familiarity and experience new adventures that mean something. This blog will motivate me to take risks, write about my travels, and give my readers motivation to follow their dreams.

Of course, I am not an experienced traveler, in the same vein I do not know the ins and out of everything, but that’s the fun of it.

Melissa

Hi! I’m Melissa, a 26-year-old American-Haitian, ready to live out my dreams of traveling the world and experiencing new things.

Growing up, I’ve always been known as the “quiet girl”. Someone who gave zero eye contact, had little to no friends and was a nervous wreck. My parents being strict made me even more scared to venture out.

After a few years of challenging experiences and graduating college, I’ve decided to finally live my life…the way I want to.  I’ve learned to stop worrying about others opinions and to focus on what defines me.
Over the past couple years, I’ve been able to build my self-esteem and become someone I never knew I’d grow up to be, and it’s exciting.

So follow me through my journey of living life with no fears like there is no tomorrow.
