Sri Lanka is an island country part of South Asia. While the recommended stay is 2weeks, we only had 2 days to explore.

Sri Lanka

This was a last minute two-day trip we planned before flying to Maldives. Unaware of what we were getting ourselves into or no real plan/ itinerary, this trip surprised us in the craziest ways.

From landing in Bandaranaike International Airport, we made our way straight to Pinnawala Village where we got to wake up to elephants bathing and stunning landscape. While I wouldn’t necessarily recommend the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage since the treatment of the elephants can be hard to watch.

I was happy to have experienced one of the most talked about places in Sri Lanka for myself.

During my time there, we also got to explore the Tea Factory, Royal Botanical Gardens and see the city of Kandy. Our last stop was Colombo which was a 3-hour long drive from Kandy. While in Colombo, we stayed at the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel for the night. Sadly we didn’t get a chance to really explore Colombo since we had to catch our flight to Maldives.

But hopefully, I make my way to Sri Lanka again, as it was an unforgettable experience.
